News - Цены на газ в Европе взлетели: превысили отметку $1,200

In a notable market shift on Friday, spot market prices for natural gas in Europe soared past $1,200 per thousand cubic meters, marking the first instance of such high levels since December 2022. This price increase was primarily observed at the TTF hub, where next-day delivery rates hit a staggering $1,204 per thousand cubic meters, translating to approximately €104 per MWh. The hike in gas prices is not isolated, as December gas futures also climbed to roughly $1,190 per thousand cubic meters, or €102.76 per MWh, at the Netherlands TTF hub. These fluctuations reflect a broader trend of increasing gas prices, influenced by various market and geopolitical factors, as indicated by the London ICE exchange data. Strategies and responses from market players have varied, with some industries ramping up investments in alternative energy sources to mitigate the impact of volatile gas prices. Governments across Europe are similarly devising policies to stabilize the energy market while ensuring sufficient supply during high-demand periods. This development signals a critical juncture for energy policies and consumer pricing, hinting at potential shifts in both tactical and long-term approaches to energy management in Europe.
