YEREVAN, March 26. During a recent phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the topic of managing the railways in Armenia. Pashinyan revealed this discussion at a Thursday briefing where he noted, 'We are currently working on this topic. There are no new updates, just a regular working process.' Regarding railways in Armenia, Pashinyan had previously ruled out the possibility of selling the management rights of Armenian railways to another country, including several friendly countries to Armenia and Russia, such as Qatar, the UAE, or Kazakhstan. Pashinyan also mentioned that within the framework of the TRIPP project, several countries were proposing to establish a railway connection between Nakhchivan and the main territory of Azerbaijan that would bypass Armenia, indicating that the Armenian railway network is under Russian management. According to him, Russia's management results in Armenia losing its competitive edge.
