To address a noticeable gap in regional event offerings, The Keene Sentinel is set to launch an enriching festival tailored for the 40+ demographic. The inaugural Best Life Fest will occur on Saturday, November 7, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Keene's Best Western. Entry is priced at $10, discounted to $5 for seniors 62+, and complimentary for active military personnel with ID. Allison Gibbons, Events Manager, emphasized, “At The Sentinel, we aim to celebrate all age brackets. Realizing the 40+ group often lacks focused events, we curated this festivity to honor and uplift them.” The festival promises dynamic activities such as casino-style games with Sentinel staff members helming the tables, an array of delectable bites from Tempesta’s, and the soothing presence of Monadnock Therapy Pets. Kicking off at 1 p.m., A Troupe of Witches from Marlow, under choreographer Dianne Eno, will perform an enthralling restaging of the German "Witches Dance," set to Peter Fox's "Schüttel deinen Speck." At 2 p.m., Britt & Olivia Line Dancing from Rutland, Vermont will engage attendees in lively line dancing. A more contemplative pace follows at 3:15 p.m. with a seminar led by Pam Lane and Keisha Huntoon of The Savings Bank of Walpole, focusing on safeguarding against financial scams. Concluding the day, artist Hannah Banana will facilitate a social painting session at 4 p.m., providing all the necessary materials and guiding participants in creating artworks centered on uplifting themes.
