YEREVAN, May 27. /ARKA/. Armenia continues to fulfill its obligations within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), and as of now, there is no recorded regulation contradicting union law, stated Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk. According to him, Russia conducts ongoing monitoring of the normative acts of EAEU countries, including Armenia, to ensure their compliance with union law. As reported by TASS, Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk stated that Armenia understands the benefits of participation in the union and is not in a hurry to exit. However, he highlighted that the political course announced by Yerevan contradicts the main goals of the EAEU. Overchuk pointed out that the political path set by Armenia's authorities might lead to a decrease in living standards, economic and industrial decline, as well as rising energy prices. In the event of a potential exit from the EAEU, Overchuk opines that it would be fair to question the retention of benefits provided to Armenia. ‘If they want to be like Europe, then their prices should also reflect that of Europe,’ he commented. Additionally, Overchuk noted that no EAEU country would desire Armenia's departure from the union. ‘We are sending certain signals, and these signals are very serious,’ he emphasized. According to him, it is necessary to analyze what consequences a possible exit of Armenia from the EAEU would have for everyone.
