Unibank recorded a significant growth in its loan portfolio for small and medium-sized businesses in the first quarter of 2026, increasing its volume by 28% compared to the previous year. Details were outlined by the first deputy chairman of the board and director of corporate business development and sales of Unibank, David Petrosyan, noting a 71% growth in the unsecured business loans portfolio and a 55% increase in business leasing. At the Yerevan Forum on SME Development, organized jointly with the Central Bank of Armenia, the Union of Banks of Armenia, and the German-Armenian Fund, Petrosyan emphasized that supporting SMEs is a strategic priority for the bank. Unibank aims to provide clients with affordable and beneficial financing conditions, assisting them in strengthening their operations and meeting their obligations. As part of its strategy for SME development, the bank also offered cashback of 1.2% on the balance of obligations to more than two thousand responsible business borrowers, encouraging their responsible fulfillment of financial commitments. The success of Unibank is based on an individual approach to assessing creditworthiness, taking into account the charter capital of enterprises and the level of their own investments in the business. This allows for tailored loan terms, which contributes to the development of the country's economy. Unibank also offers a new loan 'Micro-Express', allowing entrepreneurs to quickly resolve financial tasks. It is an unsecured loan for up to 60 months and for amounts up to 10 million drams or 25,000 US dollars. Thanks to automation and AI scoring, a preliminary loan decision can be obtained in just a few minutes, significantly simplifying access to financing for businesses. Additionally, Unibank is expanding its business leasing services, offering the opportunity to arrange without a down payment with preliminary approval available in 5 minutes. Commissions for cashless payments have also been revised, reduced to 0.5-0.9% for cards issued in Armenia. The development of digital services is another step towards improving customer service quality. The UNIBusiness Mobile app offers functionality for account management, executing SWIFT transfers, and payments to counterparties, demonstrating the bank's commitment to avoiding bureaucratic delays and speeding up business processes.
