Born in Cleveland in 1948, Gunderman's career spanned over four decades, marked by his distinctive voice featured in innumerable commercials, TV series, films, and video games. His most notable roles included being the voice on NBC’s Dateline and contributing significantly to comedy sketches on the Late Show With David Letterman. Gunderman's journey began during his college years while working at WRHA at the University of Akron. His early career in radio led him to television in Cleveland, followed by a successful freelance voice-over career in New York from 1981 until his retirement in 2021. Beyond his prolific voice work, Gunderman's passion lay in live theater, performing leading roles in various plays and participating in local cabaret events. His unique ability to bring scripts to life and his dedication to the arts earned him a cherished spot in the hearts of many. Despite his professional success, Gunderman remained deeply rooted in his love for performing, with frequent performances at An Beal Bocht, an Irish café in the Bronx, where he captivated audiences with his singing. Ralph's family, including his second wife Pamela, his son Benjamin, and several siblings, remember him not only for his professional achievements but also for his love of life and humor, which included a lifelong wish for a Cleveland baseball championship.
