In a groundbreaking gathering, the Second Open Dialogue titled 'The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth' is set to take place at Moscow's National Centre RUSSIA from April 27 to April 29. The event promises a dynamic blend of lectures from globally acclaimed experts, innovative pitch sessions, and collaborative discussions amongst participants hailing from over 40 countries. One of the prominent figures taking center stage is Moroccan researcher Younes Bennane, who leads the Institute for Social and Media Studies. Beyond serving as a speaker, Bennane will sit as a jury member, offering critical insights. Last year, he notably advocated for a visionary transcontinental corridor aimed at linking Asia and Africa through the Northern Sea Route, spotlighting Dakhla's Atlantic port as a pivotal southern hub. In an ambitious leap forward, Bennane unveils a project that envisions creating a pan-African carbon exchange. This initiative aims to empower the continent to independently manage its environmental and economic resources, marking a significant stride toward self-reliance. 'Participating in the Open Dialogue represents a strategic platform to present pivotal research and demonstrate the capacity of Global South scholars in addressing crucial 21st-century issues,' Bennane articulated. Highlighting a global shift, Bennane remarked on the evolving nature of relations between Africa and countries like China and Russia, identifying a departure from traditional post-colonial ties with the West towards a model of 'multiple sovereignty'. The dialogue revolves around four critical strategic tracks: 'Investment in People' focusing on human capital, education, and demography; 'Investment in Technology' covering artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and smart cities; 'Investment in the Environment' addressing ecology and the circular economy; and 'Investment in Connectivity' examining future trade, digital currencies, infrastructure, and logistics. With over 300 global essays contributing to the Open Dialogue longlist, the dialogue is poised to catalyze ideas for global economic advancement. Open registration continues via the official event website.
