News - Russian Regulator Seeks to Revoke Armenian Cognac Factory's License

In a significant move, the Federal Service for Alcohol and Tobacco Market Regulation of Russia has filed a court application to annul the license of the Armenian enterprise 'Proshyansky Cognac Factory'. This decision follows an unscheduled inspection, where samples taken from the factory's products brought into Russia as cognac did not meet the required GOST standards for cognac. According to the regulator's findings, the products contained non-grape spirits, which disqualified them from being classified as cognac. The identified violations prompted the pursuit of license cancellation and suspension of its activity. Additionally, the investigation uncovered that the factory's operations displayed signs of administrative offenses as outlined in Article 14.43 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. These developments have led to the case undergoing deliberation in the Arbitration Court.
