Armenia's National Assembly is discussing a new legislative proposal to award bonuses to the President, Deputy President, and judges of the Constitutional Court (CC) for their work experience and responsibilities. Justice Minister Srbuhi Galyan introduced the proposal on March 25. The draft outlines the financial bonuses aimed at recognizing the distinguished legal status and substantial responsibilities of the CC judges. It proposes a bonus structure that begins with a 20% increase in the second year of service, adding another 10% annually thereafter. With this, Armenia intends to maintain a competitive and equitable compensation framework for its judicial leadership, ensuring alignment with the roles they fulfill in upholding justice and constitutional law. The increment method reflects an acknowledgment of the dedication and expertise required to serve in these high-stakes positions of the judiciary. The legislative body will deliberate this plan thoroughly to ensure it meets both ethical standards and financial prudence, contributing to a balanced legal system.
