News - We must provide guarantees to the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh - US Ambassador to the UN

The people of Nagorno-Karabakh are looking to us, and the U.S. has allocated more than $24 million in humanitarian and development assistance since 2020 to respond in some way to this crisis. U.S. Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said during a UN Security Council meeting. "Food security, water, health care, child protection, psychological, psychosocial support is being provided, but the only way to end this crisis is to end the violence and ensure lasting peace. As they try to de-escalate the situation on the ground, we must, at the expense of the international mission, provide guarantees to the people of Nagorno-Karabakh that their rights will be ensured in accordance with the public statements that Azerbaijan itself has made. We will continue to actively work with the leadership of Azerbaijan and Armenia at the highest level in order to reach a permanent solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh problem," the diplomat noted.
