A sudden and intense heatwave known as a 'heat dome' is predicted to grip Armenia starting from March 16, causing a dramatic rise in temperatures over the coming days. From March 16 to 21, the heatwave is expected to affect various parts of the country. With maximum temperatures soaring between 16-19 degrees Celsius during the day, areas may experience unseasonably warm weather with highs between 18-19 degrees Celsius on some days. This meteorological phenomenon will see a rise in pressure and decreased humidity leading to scorching conditions. Typically cooler regions in the highlands will not be spared, experiencing drastic temperature fluctuations. Residents are urged to avoid prolonged exposure to the heat, stay hydrated, and be cautious of heat-related illnesses. The sudden spike in temperatures is noteworthy, with some regions potentially reaching 4 to 6 degrees above normal seasonal averages, prompting concerns over environmental impacts and potential health risks.
