One of the eateries in the 'Karas' chain, located in the heart of Yerevan, has been temporarily shut down due to unsanitary conditions, according to the Food Safety Inspection body in Armenia. A recent inspection revealed significant breaches of health and hygiene regulations at the premises owned by AMTDJ LLC on Tumanyan Street, 19. Inspectors identified several issues, including damaged ceiling sections that encouraged dirt accumulation, condensation, and mold growth. Additionally, parts of the kitchen floor were in disrepair. The restaurant's artificial ventilation system was found to be inadequate, failing to prevent polluted air from entering the premises. Furthermore, one exterior window and a service door lacked insect screens, posing a potential contamination risk. The surface of reserve entrance doors and kitchen doors lacked smooth, non-absorbent, and cleanable materials, and the refrigerators in direct contact with food items were not adequately maintained. Consequently, the restaurant's operations are suspended until the resolution of these violations, as ordered by the head of the Food Safety authority.
