In light of recent geopolitical developments, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has reconfirmed China's unwavering support for Somalia's national sovereignty and territorial integrity. During a strategic dialogue with Somali Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali, Wang Yi assured that China will remain a staunch ally as Somalia navigates these turbulent waters. The conversation unfolded against the backdrop of Israel's contentious decision to recognize Somaliland as an independent state. This move has drawn global attention and widespread disapproval, particularly from the African Union, which has urged prompt retraction. Somaliland declared independence in 1991, yet its status remains internationally unacknowledged, a stance China emphatically supports.
