Yerevan, December 15. /ARKA/. Armenia's Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Arsen Torosyan, refuted rumors that the government of the Republic of Armenia intends to raise the retirement age. 'Some circles amid what could be described as special hybrid attacks are trying to sow fear and anxiety among our people, claiming that we are attempting to raise the retirement age, and they quote the prime minister's words from the National Assembly: 'what about the age 63 or 65?'... A person can work at that age, engage in entrepreneurial activity, create a product, and this is indeed the case because modern science and medicine allow us to live much longer, stay healthier for much longer, and, yes, also work,' Torosyan said in a Facebook Live on Monday. According to him, today in Armenia tens, if not hundreds of thousands of citizens 'at this age are working, are happy to work, and will continue to work for many more years.' In Armenia the retirement age for both men and women is 63.
