On December 15 in Brussels, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, invited by EU partners, attended a meeting held within the framework of the EU Foreign Affairs Council. The working breakfast format discussion was attended by European Commission Vice-President and High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, and the heads and representatives of the foreign policy departments of the EU member states. The meeting noted with satisfaction the significant progress achieved in the development of the Armenia-EU partnership, and views were exchanged on upcoming steps. Minister Mirzoyan highly valued the support and the consensus formed regarding the Armenia-EU strategic partnership agenda and the implementation of various joint initiatives. During the discussions, EU member states expressed support for Armenia's democratic development, resilience-building, and addressing hybrid threats. In the context of regional developments, EU member state partners expressed support for the process of reopening communications and for efforts toward further consolidating peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. At the end of the meeting, Minister Mirzoyan gave a press statement: "Good morning, dear colleagues. I am pleased to return to Brussels. It has been only two weeks since a very successful Armenia-EU Partnership Council, during which we adopted the Armenia-EU Partnership Strategic Agenda, thereby elevating our relations to a new level. Today, in the format of the Foreign Affairs Council, chaired by High Representative Kaja Kallas, together with the member states, we discussed all the main achievements of the Armenia-EU partnership—from the economy and stronger resilience to security issues, including hybrid threats, and the support provided under the European Peace Facility. We addressed all the topics that are currently very important for the relations between Armenia and the European Union. We also assessed progress in visa liberalization, a topic of great importance for the citizens of the Republic of Armenia and for bringing Armenia closer to the European Union. Of course, there is also a bigger picture—the regional developments, the opening of communications between the South Caucasus countries, and the opportunities it presents. We discussed and welcomed the EU's possible involvement in infrastructure projects. Thank you for your attention."
