Nintendo brought several new additions for F-Zero 99’s 1.7.0 update patch, including new rankings and time-exclusive content. While the changes mainly favor the most competitive racers, the update patch also welcomes a new event for the upcoming season. Elite Leaderboard is the newest online ranking for S20+ pilots to showcase their competitive performance globally. It will rank the best players similarly to the weekly leaderboard, but it will reset every three months. Anyone who reaches S50 rank will be granted S50 Elite, which is shown as a Falcon emblem. Players can also participate in the time-limited Lucky Ranks. Competing in the special challenge can reward players with new decorations for Pilot Cards, such as newly added backdrops and emotes. The Frozen Tour Event is the latest event that will chill racers with frozen racetracks and snow. Players will need to be more cautious when driving, but can earn exclusive rewards when collecting Gem Sparks. It’s also possible to participate in the Frozen World Tour for competitive racing once the event becomes available from December 15, 2025, to January 19, 2026. The latest update also provides an accessible music player and three new secret racetracks. The new adjustments and fixes improve the player experience, including skill rating changes and an increased probability for mysterious racetracks during F-Zero 99 and Mini Prix modes. Brandon Williams Brandon has played games since the PS2, including Ape Escape, Rampage Total Destruction, and Crash Bandicoot. His love for RPGs grew after he played Persona 3, which led him to try other immersive games like Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne and Xenoblade Chronicles.
