The Anti-Corruption Committee reports that in the course of the preliminary investigation of the criminal case it has been established that the brother, S. A., of a citizen who had been summoned for interrogation to the Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the Republic of Armenia Investigative Committee, near the administrative building of that department, openly insulted and expressed indecent remarks, demonstrating blatant disrespect toward society, and toward legal and moral norms, and also used violence against the investigator of the Armavir Regional Investigative Department and against a police officer from the Vagharshapat Security Division of the RA Police. Specifically, it was established that S. A., having learned that his brother had been summoned to interrogation within the framework of the initiated criminal proceedings on October 17, 2025, went to the building of the aforementioned investigative department and, being in a state of alcohol intoxication, deliberately violated public order in a gross manner, uttered sexually explicit insults and other indecent expressions. During this, the investigator who had invited his brother to interrogation went out in front of the administrative building to try to determine what had happened. S. A., however, continued his unlawful conduct — he insulted the investigator and struck him from behind, thereby committing violence against him in connection with his official duties. A police officer on duty at the above-mentioned investigative department attempted to prevent S. A.'s unlawful conduct but the latter also used violence against the officer, causing bodily injuries not constituting signs of slight injury, after which he fled. S. A. has been charged under Part 1 of Article 297, Part 3 of Article 452, and Part 3 of Article 490 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. As a preventive measure, he has been remanded in custody. The criminal proceedings have been completed, and the materials of the proceedings with the indictment conclusion have been forwarded to the RA Anti-Corruption Court, according to the press release.
