Samsung Innovation Campus IT education program, implemented by Samsung Electronics and operating at the UWC Dilijan International School, welcomed its fourth cohort on September 6. One hundred young people selected from Yerevan, Tavush, Lori, Shirak, Kotayk, and Ararat will study in the free educational programs. This year the program attracted 570 applicants, of whom 242 passed the interview stage. According to the competition results, 100 students were admitted in two tracks. In the Java Mobile Application Development track, 71% of the students are boys and 29% girls, while in the Artificial Intelligence track 59% are boys and 41% girls. About the Artificial Intelligence (AI) track The AI track lasts 9 months, four hours per week. It is designed for university students. During the course three modules will be studied: Fundamentals of Machine Learning; Neural Networks and Computer Vision; Neural Networks and Text Processing. Each student will have an individual project to present at the end of the course. About the Java Mobile Application Development track The program takes a design-oriented approach and lasts 9 months, four hours per week. It consists of five modules: Fundamentals of the Java programming language; Introduction to Object-Oriented Programming; Fundamentals of Android app development; Algorithms and data structures; Fundamentals of server-side programming for mobile applications. At the end of the course, students will present their individual projects, applying the knowledge and skills gained during the course. The project presentation serves as the final examination and, based on its results, students receive a certificate. Projects are evaluated by an examining committee comprising Samsung-certified instructors, computer science professionals, and IT industry representatives.
