Gallup poll: Almost 50% of Armenia citizens do not believe peace treaty with Azerbaijan can be signed by year’s end

According to the latest Gallup poll, almost half of Armenian citizens do not believe that the signing of a peace treaty is possible before the end of the year. To the question "Do you consider it possible to conclude the Peace Treaty before the end of the year?" only 8.3 percent of the participating Armenian citizens said definitely yes. Rather yes, 17.5 percent said, rather no - 23.4 percent, and definitely no - 41.2 percent. And 9.6 percent found it difficult to answer. "Should Armenia make new concessions to establish closer relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey?" To this question, 7 percent said “Yes, we have no alternative;” 90 percent said “No, we have nothing more to give up;” and 3 percent found it difficult to answer. "How do you view that the Constitutional Court [of Armenia] considered the mention of Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] in the Declaration of Independence [of Armenia]  to be of no legal force?" To this question, 5 percent indicated that it was completely positive, 9.8 percent said it was rather positive, 21.3 percent noted that it was rather negative, 51.5 percent stated that it was completely negative, and 12.4 percent found it difficult to answer. "If there were Parliamentary elections [in Armenia] next Sunday, which party or bloc would you vote for?" To this question, 16.5 percent indicated the ruling Civil Contract Party, 6.4 percent said the "Armenia" alliance, others noted some other political forces, and 1.2 percent said “another party.” Also, 30.1 percent stated that they will not vote in the elections, 17.1 percent said they find it difficult to answer, 11.5 percent did not answer, and 4.6 percent noted that they will not vote for anyone. "What do you think is Armenia's most important problem?" Gallup asked this question as well to the 1,100 Armenian citizens participating in the poll. In response, 76.2 percent of them indicated security and border issues, 19.4 percent underscored political stability, 16.4 percent said economic development issues, and 9.6 percent noted labor and social issues.
