The chairman of Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Ozgur Ozel, visited Acik Radyo (Open Radio), which was closed recently by the decision of the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK) of Turkey, reports Agos Armenian weekly of Istanbul. During his Acik Radyo visit, Ozel severely criticized the Turkish authorities, and stressed that RTUK, which served their interests, had closed this radio station which has been on the air for 30 years and is a platform for free expression for everyone. The reason for the closure of Acik Radyo was the expression "Armenian Genocide" by a speaker on the April 24 broadcast of this radio station.
