New details are known from Thursday's meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia. The premier expressed his satisfaction with the dynamic nature of Armenia's relations with Iran and emphasized that ever since President Pezeshkian took office, this dynamic is not only maintained, but also developed, the PM's office informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. Also, Pashinyan stressed that the further development of relations with Iran is one of the priorities of the Armenian government. The president of Iran, for his part, underscored the continued development and expansion of his country’s cooperation with Armenia, including in economy and culture. Pezeshkian emphasized that the priority of Iran is to develop relations with neighboring and friendly countries, and added that Armenia is one of those countries. The interlocutors discussed the bilateral agenda, too. In particular, cooperation in economy, energy, and infrastructure were addressed. Views were exchanged also on regional and international issues. The interlocutors attached importance to the implementation of consistent steps towards ensuring peace and stability. The leaders of Armenia and Iran expressed their belief that strong and deep bilateral relations will contribute to the development of regional cooperation.
