On October 15, Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan met with Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Martin Changong. This was reported in the press service of the RA Parliament.According to the report, Changong said that the Azerbaijani side does not consider the window of contacts closed.In response, the Armenian parliament speaker said that despite the fact that he had been communicating with his Azerbaijani counterpart for three days on the eve of his visit to Geneva during the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in Dushanbe, the latter in no way hinted at the cancellation of the meeting, and the Armenian side learned about it only after his arrival in Geneva from the organization's secretariat.At the same time, Alain Simonyan reaffirmed the Armenian side's readiness to continue the dialog aimed at implementing concrete steps to prepare the parliaments and societies of both countries for peace and its strengthening, which should lead to the formation of mutual trust.
