Azerbaijan starts massive demolition of residential buildings in occupied Karabakh capital Stepanakert (PHOTOS)

by Lilit Oct. 11, 2024

The Azerbaijani administration has started mass demolition of residential buildings in Stepanakert, the capital of Azerbaijani-occupied Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh). Sergey Shahverdyan, Secretary of the State Council for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in the Occupied Territories of Artsakh, alerted about this on Facebook. Shahverdyan noted that in the last few days, the historic districts of the Artsakh capital were leveled to the ground along Tumanyan Street, thereby violating the property rights of thousands of Armenian owners of private buildings from the 19th and early 20th centuries.
