Armenian Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan has resigned. Minasyan issued a statement Tuesday in this regard. "Today I decided to also join the signature campaign against my tenure. I have submitted my resignation to the prime minister. In the parliamentary system of government, it will be difficult to hold the position of a minister if you do not have positive cooperation with even one MP. I was informed that I have a problem with about two dozen MPs of the [ruling majority] Civil Contract faction [in parliament]. (…). People have always expected quick and immediate restoration of justice from justice ministers. It is not a minister's function. That is reserved for law enforcement and the courts. (…). I decided to return to an environment more familiar to me. The sphere of justice can be contributed to in the private sector as well," Minasyan noted, in particular, in his statement.
