The embassy of Poland is thrilled to announce the opening of a new hiking trail at Sevan National Park of Armenia, the embassy informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. The project was financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, and within the framework of the Polish Aid development cooperation program. The main goal of this project is to improve infrastructure and recreation in the Sevan National Park area by marking the trail connecting the Sevan Botanical Garden with one of the highest points of the Arjanots mountain range, which offers one of the most beautiful views of Lake Sevan. Already marked trails will contribute to increasing the safety of hiking and a more sustainable use of natural resources, among other things, by regulating routes in this region. The completed work included the construction and marking of the existing trail and its continuation to connect Sevan National Park from the north, as well as the installation of a bench for tourists at the top. The project brought together local volunteers and professionals together with Sevan Hiking Club staying together in a camp. The local volunteers were taught marking/trail construction techniques for future maintenance and sustainable development of the trail. A group tour was organized to launch the trail. The GPS route and description will be soon available in various Armenian applications and tourist platforms. “We would like to thank the local authorities, Sevan National Park, “Trails For Change” NGO, Sevan Hiking Club, and Sevan Botanical Garden for the support,” added the Polish embassy.
