In countries like Armenia, the role of the mining industry in terms of amount of exports is huge, and the list of effects of this sector on the economy goes on and on. This was stated by Gnel Sanosyan the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, during a forum Friday dedicated to the country's mining industry. Sanosyan added that such events are necessary to assess the current state of this sector in Armenia and then only develop plans for the future. The minister reminded that last year a strategy for the development of Armenia's mining industry was adopted, and certain views were worded on how to develop it in the coming decades. Sanosyan informed that a respective cooperation memorandum will be signed between the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine, Yerevan State University, and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia. According to the minister, this will enable joint implementation of projects that also will contribute to the development of Armenia's mining industry.
