Armenian foreign minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with his Greek colleague, George Gerapetritis, in New York Wednesday, the Armenian foreign ministry informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. The interlocutors discussed the interaction between the two countries in various formats—and in line with their close political dialogue and shared values. A detailed reflection was made on the steps being taken toward the development of the new agenda of the Armenia-EU partnership, and the already recorded achievements were highlighted: the EU monitoring mission in Armenia, the start of a dialogue on visa liberalization, assistance to Armenia under the EU European Peace Facility, and further opportunities for deepening cooperation. FM Mirzoyan stressed that Armenia highly appreciates the strong support of Greece and other partners toward Armenia’s forming closer relations with the EU—and in line with the aspirations of Armenian citizens. Views were exchanged also on cooperation between Armenia and Greece toward strengthening regional security and stability.
