Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Wednesday met with the newly appointed Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Jean-Noel Barrot, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. First, Mirzoyan congratulated Barrot on his appointment to the aforesaid position, and wished him success in this new important mission, Armenian foreign ministry informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. A wide range of matters on the cooperation agenda between Armenia and France were discussed at the meeting. They included bilateral relations, the new agenda of Armenia-EU partnership, and regional developments. Also, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jean-Noel Barrot discussed the joint steps aimed at deepening cooperation between Armenia and France in all domains of mutual interest. "The relations between Armenia and France are developing with a new content, and we are moving toward building relations of a strategic nature," FM Mirzoyan emphasized. And in the regional context, views were exchanged on the security situation and challenges in the South Caucasus and around it, as well as steps aimed at establishing stable peace in the region.
