Zhoghovurd newspaper of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: While the extra-parliamentary forces [of Armenia] are these days hunting for signatures of the pro-European part of the [country’s] society in order to demand the authorities to hold a referendum on the matter of EU membership through that, [PM] Nikol Pashinyan has instructed his [political] teammates: there will be no referendum on EU membership. Thus, as is known, a number of extra-parliamentary pro-European forces are holding a signature campaign since September 16. In case of 50 thousand signatures, they will submit the corresponding signatures to the NA [(National Assembly)], demanding to hold a referendum on the matter of EU membership in Armenia. Nikol Pashinyan, despite the initiative of his satellite extra-parliamentary forces, has completely different plans. According to the information of Zhoghovurd daily, during one of the discussions in the format of the CC [i.e. the ruling Civil Contract Party] board, he told his teammates: there will be no referendum, there is no matter of EU membership on their agenda and it cannot be.
