Hraparak daily of the Republic of Armenia (RA) writes as follows, in particular: The prospect of French President Emmanuel Macron coming to Armenia on the day of Armenia's independence [anniversary on Saturday] became more blurred as of yesterday, when it became known that [Armenian PM] Nikol Pashinyan was invited to participate in the 19th La Francophonie summit on October 4-5. And last week, Stephane Sejourne, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, visited Armenia, visited the [Armenian] Genocide Memorial [in Yerevan], laid a wreath. Then, together with [Armenian FM] Ararat Mirzoyan, he visited the Vedi [town] reservoir, which is being built with the loan funds of the French Development Agency and with the co-funding of the RA government. Sejourne's visit to Armenia and Pashinyan's invitation [to the 19th La Francophonie summit] create the impression that Macron will not come to Armenia. Let's remind that on June 1, 2021, at that time the acting RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, while being hosted by Macron in Paris, had announced that he "waits” for him “in Yerevan" in the fall of 2021. However, the visit did not take place. Recently, news spread that he will visit [Armenia] on September 21, the [Armenian] authorities’ propaganda machine tried to present it as Macron's support for the RA authorities. Even improvement work was going on at France Square [in Yerevan].
