Armenia is diversifying its security relations. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during the Second Global Armenian Summit Wednesday. According to him, Armenia is carrying out technico-military cooperation with various countries and, in fact, it is creating a professional army. "The reforms of our army have no aggressive context in them. We say: our task is to protect the sovereign territory of 29,743 square kilometers [of Armenia]; a right guaranteed by the UN Charter. Moreover, the UN and other international documents impose an obligation on the state to ensure the safety of its citizens," the PM of Armenia reminded. Addressing the question of how he imagines Armenia's security environment in the short and long term, Pashinyan stated that, first of all, with the reduction of aggressive intentions in Armenia’s environment. He emphasized that Armenia's relations with its neighbors Iran and Georgia are very deep and positive and there is no potential for conflict in this regard in the long term.
