Meta said it is banning Russian state media on its social media platforms, claiming that these outlets are “using deceptive tactics to amplify Moscow propaganda.”The company, which owns Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, said on Monday it would implement the ban in the next few days as part of an escalation of its efforts to counter Russia's covert influence operations.“After careful consideration, we have expanded our measures against Russian state media. Russia Today, RT and other related organizations are now banned from our apps worldwide for foreign interference activities,” Meta said in a prepared statement.
