Armenia is ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan as soon as possible. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this at a joint press conference with visiting French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Stephane Sejourne, in Yerevan on Monday morning. The Armenian FM said that he discussed matters of regional stability with his French counterpart and confirmed Armenia's commitment to the peace agenda. "As you know, we [i.e. Armenia] have forwarded [to Azerbaijan] the latest editorial proposals [on the peace treaty], in which the text is fully agreed upon," Mirzoyan noted, and thanked France for supporting the establishment of peace in the region. "We [i.e. Armenia] are ready to quickly sign the text [of the peace treaty with Azerbaijan] which is agreed upon. An agreement by which the [two] countries mutually recognize each other's territorial integrity, the Almaty Declaration [of 1991], the borders that existed at the time of the collapse of the USSR," the Armenian FM added.
