There is a rich agenda of cooperation between Armenia and France in various domains. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this at a joint press conference with visiting French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Stephane Sejourne, in Yerevan on Monday morning. According to Mirzoyan, Armenian-French relations are based on the strong historical friendship between the two peoples, and the cooperation covers from politics to culture, constantly being enriched with new elements. The Armenian FM said that on Sunday, together with his French colleague, he visited the reservoir under construction in Vedi town of Armenia, and added that this is a bright example of economic cooperation between the two countries. For his part, Stephane Sejourne, thanked for the warm welcome, and said that he is honored to be in a country that is "close to the hearts of the French." The French FM noted that on Sunday he visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan and experienced intense emotions. "The Armenian Genocide is something that played a big role in the history of our countries," Sejourne noted. According to him, on the way to this memorial, he met many French people, which is another evidence of deep relations between the two peoples. "When historical revisionism is used to justify historical crimes, it is necessary to fight for memory and against lies," added Sejourne. And reflecting on the French assistance for the economic development of Armenia, French FM informed that a respective expert will soon be sent from France to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia.
