Yerevan is confident that the French people and political forces have the wisdom to find the right solutions. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this at a joint press conference with visiting French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Stephane Sejourne, in Yerevan on Monday morning—and responding to the question by the Le Monde daily’s reporter as to whether the Armenia is not concerned about the political situation in France. The Armenian FM noted that if the decisions correspond to democratic values and stem from the principles of freedom, equality and fraternity, which were declared by France at the time and spread throughout the world, then there is nothing to worry about. And when asked how the French side explains what is happening with its Armenian partners, Sejourne stated that his visit to Armenia was organized by order of the government. And accordingly, the French FM assured that "there is no change in values." He emphasized that the relations between Armenia and France are maintained and developing, while the change of their officials will not lead to a change in policy.
