President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, on Monday received the delegation led by the chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, Nikoloz Samkharadze, which has arrived in Yerevan to participate in the joint sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament. Noting the deepening development of the relations between Armenia and Georgia, the NA speaker made a proposal to develop new formats for the intensification of parliamentary contacts, the NA informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. The chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, for his part, welcomed the aforesaid initiative of the NA speaker. And speaking about regional developments, Samkharadze noted that Georgia supports the signing of a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The parties discussed also various other matters regarding the Armenian-Georgian agenda and of regional interest.
