Switzerland, which is a neutral country, will hold military exercises with NATO member France. This was announced by the Swiss government, explaining that it is about the joint flights of four Swiss F/A-18 fighter jets and four Rafale fighter jets of the French Navy in the airspace of the two countries. The Swiss Air Force and the French Navy will conduct these joint military exercises on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the respective statement. Several training modules are planned to be conducted in the airspace of the two countries. Four French fighter jets, which are usually stationed at the naval airbase in northwestern France, will take part in these military drills and will spend one night at the Payerne airbase in Switzerland, where they will undergo joint training. It is, in particular, about the planning, implementation, and analysis of air defense exercises, testing, and sharing experience.
