Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the Chief of Staff of the Ukrainian president, said in a live interview on Segodnya Novyny Live that as of January 1, 2025, Kyiv will stop the transfer of Russian natural gas and oil to Europe, but is ready to transfer it from other countries. "Yes, it can be another transfer gas that will go, for example, to the Mediterranean countries. Today, Europe has diversified its oil and gas supplies from Russia. Let me remind that in addition to gas, the Druzhba oil pipeline will also stop working as of January 1, 2025. Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and our beloved Hungary used to get oil with it. According to the EU resolution, they need to find opportunities to diversify oil and stop the transfer of Russian [oil] through Ukraine. The same applies to gas also," said Podolyak. According to him, if one of the European countries considers it necessary to receive natural gas from Kazakhstan or Azerbaijan, then Ukraine is "ready to transfer it." For that, Podolyak noted, there should be "appropriate logistics, contracts, where Ukraine's transfer role will be noted."
