The Russian side is determined to continue and develop cooperation with Armenia on the basis of the principles laid down in the 1997 Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, stated the Russian embassy in Armenia. "This document defined the principles and priorities of our interstate relations, as well as became an important milestone in the construction of bilateral partnership in the spirit of a true alliance. In particular, Russia and Armenia have agreed to fully strengthen [their] traditional friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation in political, economic, military, scientific, cultural, and other domains. Also, our countries have committed to cooperation in strengthening stability and security both in the Transcaucasian region and in the whole world," the Russian embassy in Armenia added in its statement.
