Abdallah Bou Habib, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon, has called on the European Union (EU) to put pressure on Israel in order to stop its attacks on the Lebanese territories, reports Al Jadeed television. During a telephone conversation with EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, Bou Habib emphasized that it is indispensable for the EU to put pressure on Israel to stop its ongoing aggression against Lebanon and follow the UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which had ended the conflict between the Jewish state and the Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah in 2006. The parties noted the importance of continuing the ceasefire efforts in the Gaza Strip, saying that the settlement of the situation is the main way to end the escalation of tension and prevent a full-scale war.
