News - Court hearing kicks off in case into June 12 Yerevan clashes

The preliminary hearing of the case against several participants of the peaceful disobedience action as a result of the clashes with the police forces in Yerevan on June 12 has started at the Criminal Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan. According to the indictment, several persons have been charged with hooliganism by a group of persons. Among the accused, only Edgar Yukhanaev is charged with participation in mass riots. As a result of the use of force by the police against the participants of the protest action that was held on June 12 on Marshal Baghramyan Avenue—near the Armenian parliament building, around 101 people were injured, and one of these persons had lost his wrist due to the special measures used by the police.
