Armenia's economic interests completely coincide with the interests of Russia and its allies. Mher Avetisyan, chairman of the organizing committee of the international forum, entitled "New Horizons of Cooperation between Armenia and EAEU with BRICS and SCO," and head of the "My Country, My Armenia" sociopolitical movement, stated this while recapping the results of this forum that is coming to a close in Yerevan. "To sum up, I would like to mention several important points. First of all, in order to have a competitive economy, it is necessary to resolve one's own security issues. A country cannot have security issues and have a developed economy at the same time. Entrepreneurs invest and associate financial well-being with countries where there are special security guarantees. Therefore, we must first resolve the security issues of our country," Avetisyan noted. According to him, one should not be upset with the US, Russia, France, or China, which defend their own national interests. "We ourselves must determine our interests, with whom they coincide, and defend them. This is the only way to resolve security issues," Avetisyan recalled, adding that it is necessary to build relations with countries whose interests coincide with those of Armenia. "In the case of Armenia, those interests are more than clear. All indicators show that Armenia's economic interests clearly do not coincide with the West. The entire structure of Armenia’s economy is interconnected with the Russian Federation, EAEU, SCO, BRICS; this is a fact, it is pointless to argue with it. You can talk about diversification, but it is what it is. Armenia's economic interests completely coincide with the interests of Russia and its allies," concluded Mher Avetisyan, calling on the Armenian people to build relations with BRICS because the future is with them.
