

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Tuesday met with Antonio Tajani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, on the margins of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informs Armenian News-NEWS.am. The Armenian FM presented to his Italian counterpart the current situation as a result of another large-scale military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh on Tuesday, and stress that Azerbaijan continues its aggressive policy aimed at ethnic cleansing of Armenians. Mirzoyan noted that the Azerbaijani armed forces are targeting as well the civilian population and infrastructure of Nagorno-Karabakh, as a result of which there are casualties and wounded among civilians, including women and children. The Armenian FM emphasized the need for a proper response and clear steps by the international community, particularly the European Union and its member countries, in order to prevent mass crimes in Nagorno-Karabakh. At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the Armenia-Italy bilateral agenda, too.
