BRICS and SCO are major and promising directions for Armenia. Chairman of the Union of Political Scientists of Armenia, Mihran Shahzadeyan, stated this at the international forum, entitled "New Horizons of Cooperation between Armenia and EAEU with BRICS and SCO," which is being held in Yerevan. But one must have a conceptual vision as to what to do and in which direction to move, the expert reminded. "In the declaration of SCO Astana, the processes taking place today are called tectonic. The existing world order, based on the combination of liberal economy and universal transformation and unification, is a failure," Shahzadeyan noted. According to him, the process of re-globalization is underway in the conditions of serious geopolitical competition, new centers of influence are being born, whose ideology is the transition from the concept of "us and us" to "us and them". The BRICS approach is built on this. "Armenia has long-standing ties with some of the BRICS countries—Russia and Iran, relations are developing with India, China, and other participants," Shahzadeyan recalled, noting the importance of developing a promising cooperation program that envisages infrastructure projects. He focused separately on humanitarian issues because in the concept of "us and us" an important place is allocated to people's contacts. Shahzadeyan proposed to create an expert group within the framework of the Armenia-BRICS Business Cooperation Center for conducting consultations and to carrying out cooperation with the BRICS Expert Council.
