Zhoghovurd newspaper of Armenia writes as follows, in part: According to the information of Zhoghovurd daily, the opposition factions of the Yerevan Council of Elders are preparing to start discussions, in September, on expressing no confidence in the mayor of Yerevan It is difficult to say what result they will have. Let us recall that the regulations of the Council of Elders of the City of Yerevan stipulate: at least one third of the total number of members of the Council of Elders can submit a draft decision to express no confidence in the mayor. The draft decision notes the name-surname of the member of the council of elders whom the initiative group nominates as a candidate for mayor, and it must be signed by all members of the initiative group. The draft decision on expressing no confidence in the [serving] mayor is [then] handed to the mayor as well as to the factions. The factions immediately inform their members about it.
