Bentleys with 12-cylinder engines will soon become history, reports Auto News of the Day. The Continental GT has already switched to a hybrid powertrain, and the Flying Spur will soon follow suit. The manufacturer itself hinted at this by publicizing the first teaser image of the new hybrid model. Under the hood of the new Bentley Flying Spur will be a plug-in hybrid powertrain based on a 771-horsepower 4.0-liter V8 with twin turbocharging and a single electric engine. Presumably, this will be the same unit as the Bentley Continental GT, with an additional 187 hp electric engine and a 25.9 kWh battery. The energy reserve of the new model on "net" electricity is not yet known. But its top speed has already been announced, which will be 207 mph (333 km/h). According to one of the theories, the new product may be introduced already in August, at the Monterey Car Week.
