Azerbaijan has invited Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to Baku to participate in the COP 29 conference to be held in November. NEWS.am asked the Foreign Ministry whether Armenia accepted the invitation and will participate in it. "If the issue is addressed, we will inform you," the Foreign Ministry responded. Earlier Hikmet Hajiyev, the assistant of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, had said that the President of the COP 29 conference, Mukhtar Babaev, sent an official invitation to the Foreign Minister of Armenia. “Considering that the parties do not have diplomatic relations, this step of Baku shows Azerbaijan's goodwill and inclusive approach. Now the government of Armenia should make a decision," he had said. It is noteworthy that the invitation to participate in COP 29 was sent not to Prime Minister Pashinyan, but also to Ararat Mirzoyan. Meanwhile, last month there were reports in the Azerbaijani media that Nikol Pashinyan will go to Baku, in response to which the Armenian Prime Minister's spokesperson said that such a visit is not planned in Pashinyan's work agenda.
