The next meeting of the Foreign Ministers in “3+3” format will be held in Turkey in the nearest future. This was stated by Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani to the Iranian news agency SNN. He recalled that the last meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the platform participants was held in Tehran. The diplomat also pointed out the importance of the security of Armenia's Syunik region for the Iranian side. "This is a strategic region that plays an important role in security and trade between Iran and Armenia. The opening of the Iranian Consulate General in Kapan has contributed to the improvement of cross-border communication,” he concluded. The first meeting of the “3+3” group (in fact - the “five”, as Georgia is still not participating in the work of the platform) was held in December 2021 in Moscow at the level of deputy foreign ministers of five countries - Armenia, Russia, Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkey. Another meeting with the participation of the ministers of the five countries was held in October 2023 in Iran. The next meeting will be held in Turkey in 2024.
