The trade turnover between Armenia and the United States has tripled since 2020. Samantha Power, head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), said this at a briefing in Yerevan on July 10. "If in 2020 the figure was 96 million dollars, in 2023 it was 321 million dollars. This pace can accelerate. We are moving from support for Armenia to trade with Armenia. We have helped the Armenian Government improve investment opportunities in imports and experts in agriculture, tourism, and technology. In addition, we are working to encourage local food production, including the cultivation of crops suitable for Armenia's climate," she added. She expressed the U.S. readiness to help Tavush and Lori better prepare for future potential natural disasters.Power said $2.4 million will be allocated to ensure that as technology advances, citizens' personal information is protected and other human rights are safeguarded. She expressed confidence that within 5 years, there has been a significant development in Armenia, which has led to liberalization in the sphere of media, as well as transparency in the sphere of fighting corruption.
