The Japanese authorities will provide Ukraine with another batch of demining equipment as part of bilateral support agreements. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan."The Japanese government will provide four large demining vehicles to the State Emergency Situations Service [SES] of Ukraine through the Japan International Cooperation Agency. Demining and disposal of unexploded ordnance is not only important to ensure the safety of residents, but is also part of efforts to rebuild infrastructure," the ministry said in a statement.The delivery is expected to be made by the end of this year. In addition, the Japanese side will hold a training course on demining for employees of the State Emergency Situations Service of Ukraine.Japan and Ukraine signed a 10-year bilateral security agreement in June. In addition, Kiev will receive $4.5bn from Tokyo in 2024. In accordance with Japanese legislation and the current constitution, Japan will be able to supply Ukraine only with non-lethal equipment.
